Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What do your outstanding real estate services cost?

A. In the United States, it is traditional for real estate brokers to be compensated by the seller or landlord upon closing of the transaction. Because our fee is always included in the offer to exchange, option, lease or purchase the property you select, our exceptional services can be enjoyed without any additional cost at all.

Q. What’s the difference if I’m a client or customer?

A. A client engages the professional services of an agent for the protection of a fiduciary relationship and the promotion of the client’s personal interests. A customer is one who is sold something. Customers have no legal relationship of trust or confidence to protect them nor do they have anyone to promote their personal interests.

Q. Why would a buyer choose to be a customer?

A. Why indeed? Consumers who truly understand the value of being properly represented by a competent and devoted advocate always choose the relationship of Buyer/Client.

Q. What is “one-stop” shopping?

A. After locating and researching the property you want and negotiating the best possible price and terms, several other things must be accomplished in order to complete the purchase. A Buyer’s Agent assists in obtaining better rates on and coordinating all aspects of the purchase, including the financing, inspections/due diligence, title insurance, property insurance, closing attorneys and whatever else is necessary to assure a successful closing. An agent CANNOT advise a customer (one who has not hired an agent) on any of these matters! The buyer is on their own!

Q. Why will a Buyer’s Agent provide more in-depth property research than other agents?

A. A Buyer’s agent represents YOU at all times and is responsible for your welfare. If you are a “customer”, not a “client”, the agent has no obligation or desire to point out potential problems. Their goal is to make the sale.

Q. If I buy one of your company’s listings, who represents me?

A. Our company practices “designated agency” which means that the Broker of my company “designates” me to represent my Buyer/Client and the Listing agent to represent the Seller/Client. As a Buyer/Client, you are the “client” of the firm, Re/Max Savannah.
